Sackawa Canoe Club is seeking an energetic and supportive
Part-Time Coach
to assist our coaching staff with the delivery of programs on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone passionate about CanoeKayak, enjoys working with youth, and is eager to help foster skill development in a positive and safe environment.

Sackawa Canoe Club is a community-based paddling organization with a proud history of promoting athletic development, teamwork, and a lifelong love of sport. We offer recreational and competitive programs for paddlers of all ages and abilities.
Responsibilities
Assist the head coach and assistant head coach with the delivery of canoe/kayak training sessions and programs.
Support youth athletes and skill levels in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.
Provide supervision and guidance during on-water and land-based activities.
Help with club programming, special events, and regattas as needed.
Promote the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.
Qualifications
Experience in coaching CanoeKayak programs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiasm for working with children, youth, and adults.
Standard First Aid & CPR (required).
Canoe Kids Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Pleasure Craft Operator Card (required).
Hours & Compensation
Part-time, relief basis
(flexible hours depending on program schedules, including evenings and weekends).
Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Clear Criminal Record & Vulnerable Sector Check (required).

Do you have experience in the sport of sprint canoe/kayak and can you demonstrate an understanding of paddling technique and sportsmanship values?
Do you have previous experience working with/coaching young children and the ability to develop youth athletic programs?
Do you have the ability to balance the needs of high-performance athletes with recreational paddlers and children who are new to the sport?
Licence/Certification:
ELCC Coaching Certification (preferred)
