Business Development Coach


The Business Development Coach will work closely with the Manager of Distribution to develop, train, and mentor our Agents while supporting business growth and operational excellence. This dynamic role is perfect for someone who thrives in developing strong relationships, developing others, is passionate about the insurance industry, and is genuinely aligned with AFM's commitment to serving our Policyholders and supporting our team members.

As a key contributor to our distribution strategy, you'll support Agent development and success while fostering the trusted, lasting relationships that are integral to our culture. The successful candidate will embody our organizational values and collaborative approach, bringing expertise in sales training, process development, and Agent support while thinking strategically and operationally about how our values and purpose guide our growth initiatives and deepen our connections with those we serve.

Responsibilities:



Evaluate and develop workflows, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency, high quality service, and a positive Policyholder experience across the Agent network Coach and develop Agents, facilitating comprehensive Agent training programs covering insurance sales, workflows, policies, procedures, and system usage Support the Manager of Distribution in the recruitment, selection, and performance development/support for all Agents Provide escalation support and guidance to Agents on complex matters Support customer experience initiatives including program development, measurement and monitoring Collaborate on Guidewire functionality development to enhance Policyholder and Agent experience Analyze data and statistical information, sharing findings and trends Coordinate marketing support including donations, sponsorships, tradeshows, and community events Provide administrative support including Agent licensing coordination and general support to the Manager of Distribution Monitor member needs and organizational priorities while consistently demonstrating AFM's values

Skills and Experience:



Post secondary education in a Business Program, CIP, CRM, or equivalent related experience 3+ years of sales and insurance experience, preferably in Agent development or coaching roles Previous leadership, coaching, and mentoring experience with a problem-solving mindset Guidewire experience preferred Specialized knowledge in underwriting and sales within the mutual insurance industry, an asset Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and sales database management Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor Exceptional verbal and written communication skills High level of integrity and discretion in managing confidential information Valid driver's license
