The Part Time Cook plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of a household. This position involves making meals for our 11 residents (hot lunch and supper (breakfast is continental), occasional food shopping. You would be cooking 2 days a week and the shift is 9am-5:30pm.
Duties
Plan and prepare meals, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and dietary requirements.
Manage kitchen operations, including food handling, meal preparation, and inventory.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
Assist with grocery shopping and procurement of household supplies as needed.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices in food service.
Communicate effectively with residents regarding preferences, schedules, and any special requests.
Skills
Proven experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is highly desirable.
Strong cooking skills with an emphasis on meal preparation and food handling.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with staff and family .
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the household is crucial.
