Location:

Windsor and Essex County - We are looking for PSW's that will be primarily county based with occasional work in Windsor. Areas of need: Amherstburg, Belle River, Leamington and Tecumseh.

Position Type:

Part-Time, Permanent

Pay:

$19.06 to start with $3.00 per hour when working directly with clients for $22.06 per hour to start - additional wage increases at 750 hours and 1950 hours.

Expected Hours:

20-30 hours per week

Position Overview:

As a Client Support Staff member, you will be supporting individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias in both our

Adult Day Program

and

In-Home Respite Program

. Your primary goal will be to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment that enhances their daily lives. This includes providing personal care, facilitating social activities, and supporting emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Compassionate Care

: Assist clients with personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting), meal preparation, and light housekeeping.

Engagement

: Help clients participate in social activities and hobbies, promoting their emotional and cognitive well-being.

Support Individual Goals

: Ensure that clients' specific needs and goals are met by following their personalized care plans.

Health and Safety

: Monitor and ensure the safety, health, and independence of each client.

Documentation

: Keep accurate daily care records, including incident reports and medication administration when required.

Team Collaboration

: Work closely with a team of caregivers to ensure consistent, high-quality care.

Hours & Scheduling:

Flexibility is required, as

shifts will include weekdays, evenings, and rotating weekends.

Typical hours are Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.,

However, some evenings will be required based on client needs.

This is a

part-time position

, up to 30 hours per week.

What We're Looking For:

Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate or Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, or equivalent education and experience.

Police Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check).

Valid CPR/BLS and First Aid certifications as well as, Safe Food Handlers certificate.

Current, valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle as you travel between clilents homes, public transportation is not available.

Passion for supporting seniors, especially those with cognitive impairments like Alzheimer's or dementia.

Experience in dementia care, gerontology, or a related field.

Social Services Worker Gerontology diploma is an asset.

Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team.

Knowledge of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel).

A commitment to confidentiality and maintaining privacy for our clients.

Physical Demands:

Lifting, bending, and assisting clients with mobility.

Ability to move supplies and assist clients with daily tasks.
