Timmins Transit's mission is "to excel in the provision of a safe, reliable, efficient and customer service focused public
transportation system". As a transit driver you play a key role in providing this service. This is an opportunity to apply your
skills in a unique customer-service role.
Duties
o Safely operate Timmins Transit buses and transport passengers on assigned routes within route times
Create a positive experience for transit users by providing safe, reliable and friendly service
Ability to perform service duties in garage (if required)
Ability to compile various reports
Required to participate and support the City of Timmins Continuous Improvement Program in order to help foster a
culture of operational excellence
Ability to perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
o Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) education or equivalency
Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely and possess a Class CZ driver's licence. Note that candidates
with a Class A, B, or D licence who currently have or are willing to obtain their "Z" endorsement along with their Class
of licence will be considered for an interview. It should also be noted that candidates with a Class AZ will need to write
the Class C license test.No transit experience is required, the employer will train
Demonstrated interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, staff and outside agencies in a courteous and effective
manner Prior customer service experience preferred
Be able to work a flexible work schedule including shift work and weekend work
Have good knowledge of City streets, bus routes and schedules
Clear Driver's Abstract required
Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen required
Current WHMIS Certificate an asset
