BGC Greater Halifax is part of a national network of Clubs that create opportunities for children and youth to grow, learn, and thrive. We operate after-school and community programs across HRM, helping more than 2,000 young people each year build confidence, develop skills, and find belonging.We're seeking a skilled and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our organization during a leave placement. This is a temporary term position (December 1, 2025 - June 21, 2027), with the possibility of renewal based on organizational needs.
About the Role
The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and support monthly and year-end reporting. This position works closely with the CEO and our external accounting firm to ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable, receivable, and payroll entries using
QuickBooks Online (QBO)
Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
Maintain organized and accurate financial records
Support preparation of financial reports and year-end documentation
Coordinate with our external accountant for reconciliations and reporting as needed
Qualifications
Proven bookkeeping experience (non-profit experience an asset)
Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines

Part-time, 20 hours per week
Temporary term: December 1, 2025 - June 21, 2027
Hourly rate commensurate with experience
Possibility of renewal based on organizational needs
