Killer Ice Cream is a small business in Vancouver, BC V6R 1P2. We've been open just over one year and are still building our dream team!
Our work environment includes the opportunity for growth to any staff member that makes themselves indispensable to operations. We will promote from within for management roles and are looking for a commitment of at least a year, as ideally anyone we begin training now would be available for part time hours throughout the year and move towards a full-time role for next summer. This role could be great for a local college or university student looking to work on weekends and some weekdays/evenings as available.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic cashier/ice cream swirler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about serving delicious frozen treats and providing exceptional customer service. Barista skills are a big asset.
Responsibilities:
- take orders and payments through Square POS
- Operate ice cream blender and equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to move between roles as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the service area and prep kitchen area
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Handle cash transactions accurately
- Upsell products and promote new flavours/sundaes
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards
-communicate with management on low stock items, issues with customers or other staff.
Skills:
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong command of English language for clear communication
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures
- Ability to upsell products effectively
- Familiarity with sanitation practices in a food service setting
- Experience in cashiering
- Understanding of food safety regulations. If you don't have your FoodSafe Level 1, you would be expected to get it without too much delay.
