Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 6201 Sec 50, \xe2\x80\x9cA Critical Approach to Violence and Trauma Intervention and Practice in Social Work\xe2\x80\x9d. The course is part of the MSW program and will be offered in the Summer Term, from July-August, 2024. Note: this is an online course.

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. Distance courses are taught using an online learning management system (LMS) known as Brightspace. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: A critical and social justice-based approach to working with a range of violent and traumatic experiences including child abuse, sexualized violence, intimate partner violence, intergenerational trauma, traumatic grief and loss. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience, preferably with online teaching.

Salary Range/Pay Rate As per CUPE Collective Agreement
