Overview

We are looking for a

reliable and empathetic male caregiver

to support a

16-year-old male with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

in Cochrane, Alberta. The client lives at home with his parents, enjoys routine, daily walks, and communicates using gestures and vocalizations.

This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and either experienced in supporting individuals with ASD or eager to learn and grow in this area.

Schedule

Monday to Friday

4 hours/day

Start time flexible between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM

Duties & Responsibilities

Accompany client on

daily walks

and light outings Support with

personal hygiene

(cleaning after toilet use) Supervise and

gently guide

as needed during walks or outings Accompany client and parent on

errands

(a parent will drive) Engage in

compassionate non-verbal communication

Participate in a

short introductory meeting (unpaid)

to ensure compatibility

About the Client

16-year-old male, approximately 5'10" and 90 kg

Non-verbal

, but uses hand gestures and vocalizations to communicate Understands

English and Gujarati

Vegetarian

Enjoys physical affection like hugs, but is

not aggressive

Experiences

3 seizures/month

- parents will train caregiver in response techniques

Sensitive to voice pitch

live in or very near Cochrane

Must be

physically able

to provide light guidance if needed during walks Willingness to attend an

unpaid introductory meeting

with the client Criminal background and vulnerable sector check -

required later in the process

CPR/First Aid certification

Experience working with individuals with
