Reporting to the Manager, Partnership Marketing, this position has oversight over implementation of Armstrong Collective's marketing plans with trade partners, and non-traditional partners. This includes the management of account relationships, championing and supporting on trade engagement initiatives globally, and being the subject matter expert (SME) in relation to all things partnership marketing related.
This role works collaboratively with the broader Marketing team, Global Outside Sales and the Research & Data team with the goal of increasing brand awareness, consideration and ensuring the company reaches and exceeds sales targets . They are involved with larger cross functional and often global projects helping deliver key tactical outcomes.
Working knowledge of travel trade sales and the distribution channels is essential for success. Established stakeholder relationships would be a bonus.
This is a fixed term position with contract ending in December, 2026.
Key Areas of Accountability
PARTNERSHIP MARKETING
Help to exceed targets within specific geographical regions
Deliver all required programs to market on time and on budget
Develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships with key accounts
Seen as an integral member and key contact with Global Sales Team
Bring better efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible within the Partnership Marketing co-op spend
Ensure all communication elements are consistent with the Rocky Mountaineer and Canyon Spirit brands
Support the development and delivery of key trade engagement initiatives globally
MARKETING MANAGEMENT
Define the partner engagement strategy across all accounts responsible for
Manage comprehensive and multi-faceted cooperative marketing programs with global travel trade partners, including: setting objectives and targets, data analysis, implementation of programs, and the measurement, tracking and reporting of results and ROI
Manage trade marketing deliverables for the global regions including: collateral development & production, trade event collateral and branding, content development and distribution and trade partner webpage development
Champion the channel, regions, and accounts responsible for when collaborating with various stakeholder groups in the organization, ensuring a complete understanding of the environment in which the accounts operate, their business, core objectives and performance
Establish and nurture strong cooperative working relationships with key accounts marketing departments
Demonstrate strong negotiation skills, ensuring Rocky Mountaineer and Canyon Spirit brands are receiving the strongest exposure in all trade marketing initiatives
Help establish trade marketing standards and performance targets to ensure program results are measured and achieved; recommend ways to improve efficiencies
Understand and disseminate consumer and market insights that will impact strategic and tactical marketing decisions
OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Work with the Manager for all aspects of budget preparation, expenditures, monthly and quarterly monitoring and year-end accountability for the region and accounts specified
Apply expertise to implement best practices and review processes and procedures to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies
Collaborate with multiple internal teams including Marketing, Sales, Research & Data, Finance, Product/Operations and Guest Experience
Participate in regular business and market development meetings (local and potentially international)
Provide presentations to the organization, including: campaign reviews, procedural changes, updates
Have a strong understanding of emerging trends, issues, and opportunities in the travel and tourism sector
Represent Rocky Mountaineer and Canyon Spirit brands at events; as required
Support the Partnership Marketing team; as required
Qualifications
Education / Certifications / Knowledge
University degree, with post-secondary education in marketing or relevant experience
Experience
4-5 years in a tourism/travel trade sales and/or marketing role
Experience in brand management, market research, print and digital marketing
Experience in managing budgets
An established network in travel and tourism; regarded as an asset
Skills
Solid understanding of travel trade and the distribution channels
Confidence in leading multi-faceted projects
Demonstrated ability to think strategically
Exceptional negotiation skills with a goal to find a win-win for all parties at the table
Solid understanding of social media channels
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
Service oriented with a strong customer focus
Ability to make decisions and effectively communicate information
Working Conditions
Due to time zone differences must be able to work flexible hours
Flexible to travel as required
Compensation
The base salary offered for this role is $65,000 to $75,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
