Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical, Quantitative/Business field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 11 years of experience in business, strategy consulting, business development, or corporate strategy leadership.
  • Experience in managing strategy projects (e.g., plan and product launch) from inception to deployment.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working in the retail industry or with large commerce ecosystem partners.
  • Experience working effectively across all levels (executives, managers, peers).
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and with complex, multi-dimensional problems.
  • Ability to drive results, and work in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a large, matrixed organization.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to inspire, trust, and influence outcomes.
About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

As a Cross-Google Partner Manager (xGPM), you will develop an understanding of cross-Google partner activities/operations in support of executive sponsor relationships, including coordination with partners. You will also collaborate to draft cross-Google joint business plans and drive partner core business objectives. You will aggregate partner priorities/feedback to regional Partnerships teams and support partnership solutions function experts on the partner approach to inform narratives.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google's Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google's own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google's user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities
  • Develop an understanding of partners with cross- Google activities, opportunities in support of executive sponsor relationships with CEO, including coordination with partners.
  • Collaborate across product area to draft Google joint partnership plans.
  • Map partner business priorities to Google product areas, and identify forward-looking opportunities.
  • Lead all operations for partners (e.g., briefings, reporting, communication) and support partnership solutions in the retail and commerce vertical on the partner approach to inform narratives.
  • Accelerate agreements and drive strategic initiatives, including industry strategy alignment, cross-functional and joint business plans, and key industry initiatives/programs.
