This key leadership role contributes to the growth of a tax practice in the Winnipeg area. It is an opportunity to join a high-performing business unit where you will use your expertise to deliver a personalized approach to the client\xe2\x80\x99s business, by providing practical advice that is unique to their business, while helping organizations navigate through the complexities of their Corporate Canadian Tax requirements, combined with personal tax planning, and advisory services.

Play a key leadership role in the growth, development and management of the Domestic Tax practice in Winnipeg that complements, and is supported by, the firm\xe2\x80\x99s overall strategy for growth.

  • Mentor, coach and develop the next generation of leaders
  • Champion the growth, management and development of our Private Company Practice for our Manitoba Business Unit
  • Actively contribute to the office business plan, in collaboration with the business unit, service line, community, and firm
  • Make a meaningful impact with clients and colleagues across Canada. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with GT Canada Tax Partners; as well as, Partners across all service lines, sub-service lines, sectors (Assurance, Advisory, Tax) and geography to provide a menu of options aimed at optimizing the entirety of a client\xe2\x80\x99s business value
Key Requirements

Education

Completion of Bachelor\'s or Master\'s Degree in Economics, Business, Law, Finance, Taxation and/or an Accounting Designation, JD/LLB or LLM or related field. Certified Professional Accountants Designation and related professional training.

Experience and Attributes
  • 10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in public accounting or related industry
  • Significant tax planning and compliance experience including an in-depth understanding of Canadian Corporate taxation matters
  • Demonstrated experience growing a practice and business development which focuses on development of relationships and actively anticipating client and market needs
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to be an active participant in the development of the tax team
  • Develop solutions with clients and co-workers through collaborative effort and discussion
  • Commitment to quality, excellence and continual professional growth for yourself and for those you lead
  • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills, including exceptional interpersonal skills to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues at all levels and influence decision-makers
  • Desire to learn and grow, and be an integral part of a team that puts \xe2\x80\x9cwe before me\xe2\x80\x9d, where flexibility is a mindset, and where you trust your colleagues to have your back
