Black Literacy Code (BLC) is a Black-led, Black-serving nonprofit organization dedicated to cultural education, employment empowerment, and youth leadership. Through culturally grounded programming, BLC supports Black youth facing barriers to employment by providing training, wrap-around supports, and access to meaningful work opportunities.
Position Overview
The Participant Intake & Support Specialist is responsible for managing the full participant journey from intake to program completion. This role focuses on recruitment support, intake assessments, case management, attendance tracking, and coordination of wrap-around supports to ensure youth remain engaged and supported throughout the program. The Specialist plays a critical role in identifying barriers, responding to participant needs, and maintaining accurate documentation required for reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate participant recruitment support and intake processes
Conduct intake assessments to identify employment barriers, support needs, and eligibility
Develop and maintain individualized participant support plans
Track attendance, participation, and engagement throughout training and QEO phases
Provide ongoing check-ins and case management support to youth participants
Coordinate participant supports including transportation, meals, emergency assistance, and referrals
Support youth navigating personal, financial, or mental health challenges in collaboration with external providers
Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and participant records
Support data collection and reporting requirements
Collaborate closely with program staff to support retention and successful outcomes
Qualifications
Experience in youth services, social services, employment programs, or case management
Strong understanding of barriers faced by Black, racialized, newcomer, or underrepresented youth
Experience conducting intake assessments and managing confidential information
Knowledge of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, or anti-oppressive practices
Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to manage multiple participants while providing individualized support

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
