Weekend Prep Cook - Mezza Lebanese Kitchen, Stratford

We are looking for an energetic individual to join our amazing Mezza Family as a Weekend Prep Cook . This position is crucial to our daily operations and plays a significant role in delivering the fresh, high-quality food our guests love.

Position Details:

• Part-Time Weekend Position - Must be available both Saturdays and Sundays .
• Flexible Shift Options: 6-2, 7-3, 7-1, 8-4, or 9-5. (I'm pretty open to discussion on this topic! Shifts must begin in the morning before our 11 am opening.)
• Hours: Approximately 14 hours per week for prep duties only. Additional hours are available if you're also interested in guest service.
• Starting Wage: $16.25/hour + Tips (Tips range from $2-$4/hour, leading to a starting wage of over $18/hour !)

What You'll Be Doing:

• Chopping, slicing, and dicing fresh veggies delivered daily.
• Preparing dressings, sauces, and building our famous shawarma cones.
• Maintaining a spotless kitchen - including deep fryer cleaning, grill maintenance, and weekly hood system cleaning.
• Placing produce orders and organizing deliveries.
• Time management is key - executing the prep list efficiently and maintaining quality standards.
• DJ Duties: Our prep area is away from the front line, so you'll be in charge of setting the work vibe with great tunes!

Requirements:

• Food Safety Certificate - knowledge of food safety practices is essential.
• Knife Skills - ability to safely and efficiently chop, slice, and dice.
• Speed and Efficiency - must be able to handle high volumes of prep quickly.
• Cleaning Experience - this role requires a strong eye for detail and a passion for cleanliness.
• Team Player Attitude - a positive attitude and willingness to support the team is a must!
• Ability to Work Under Pressure - weekends are busy, and hustle is required!
