dedicated and skilled Prep Cook
to join our culinary team! The ideal candidate will help ensure that our kitchen runs smoothly and that every dish is prepared to the highest standards.
Job Overview
As a Prep Cook, you will assist in food preparation, mise en place, inventory, and overall kitchen organization. You will support the head chef by handling prep work, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring high-quality production. Pastry experience is an asset!
Duties
Prepare ingredients for cooking (washing, chopping, measuring).
Assist with complex recipes and cooking tasks as directed by the head chef.
Perform mise en place and stock stations with necessary supplies.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Handle food items safely with proper storage and labeling.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock is low.
Support with cleaning duties (dishes, utensils, equipment).
Assist in dessert and pastry preparation (preferred).
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
Proven cooking skills and knowledge of prep techniques.
Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling.
Bilingual:
Spanish and English required.
Safe Food Handling certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Culinary diploma or equivalent experience is an asset.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining detail.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Passion for cooking and willingness to learn.
Flexibility for occasional evening or event shifts.
