Overview

Vistamere Retirement Residence is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our caring team. As a PSW, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring they maintain a comfortable and dignified lifestyle. Your efforts will contribute to creating a warm, safe, and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being of each resident.

Responsibilities

Personal Care: Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting their independence and dignity. Mobility Assistance: Support residents with mobility needs, such as transferring, walking, and using mobility aids. Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in residents' health and behavior to nursing staff and participate in care planning. Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere. Daily Activities: Assist with organizing and participating in recreational and social activities that enhance residents' quality of life. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with residents, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications

Prior experience in retirement, assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is preferred Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, medication administration, and working with people with disabilities is highly desirable Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience Ability to perform caregiving duties including light cleaning and meal preparation Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent is an asset but not mandatory for all roles Valid work authorization for the region where the position is based Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for professional development and continuing education Supportive and inclusive work environment Chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents
