The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Instructor to facilitate, teach, and inspire students across a variety of programs, including:

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Academic upgrading (Math, English, ESL) Career-focused diploma and certificate programs (e.g., Customer Service, Office Administration)
This is not a traditional front-of-class teaching role in a large school. Summit operates on a smaller scale. Students work at individual stations, and the instructor circulates to check in, answer questions, provide feedback, and guide them through their program. Some students work independently, while others require more one-on-one support--allowing you to build meaningful connections and see real progress.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting students one-on-one and helping them set achievable goals Marking work and providing feedback Preparing Summit's ready-made resources and materials Writing progress reports, completing assessments, and collaborating with funding agents Working with continuous student intakes, where enrollment and duration vary based on program and goals

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has strong emotional intelligence and can build rapport with students navigating life transitions Demonstrates patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for learning Enjoys working with diverse groups of students of varying ages, skill levels, and challenges Available to work Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with shifts typically 3-6.5 hours. We're currently looking for someone who can work Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Requirements

Ontario diploma or degree from a post-secondary institution (required) Adult Education degree (preferred) Strong ability to build rapport and motivate students Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Openness to ongoing learning and professional growth
