The CITY OF MORDEN invites you to submit your application for the position of Parks Lead in the Parks and Urban Forestry Department.

Responsibilities:

- Lead in park inspections and reporting, park asset inventory, and maintenance of park infrastructure.

- Lead in the maintenance and improvements of municipal cemeteries.

- Lead in the maintenance and improvements of park trails and support active transportation.

- Lead the department with turf maintenance, including turf establishment, maintenance and irrigation systems.

- Make recommendations to the Director for park improvements, upgrades and the development of new park spaces.

- Provides field supervision and on-site training include safe work practices and procedures to all department seasonal staff.

- Assists in planning of seasonal plans, upgrades and new construction in parks.

- Assists the Director with operational and capital budgets, annual projects plans and seasonal work plans.

- Assists the Horticulture program, including an annual flower program, community gardens, pollinator gardens, perennial shrub bed maintenance, renovation, and establishment.

- Assist the department with the Arboriculture program, including tree planting and establishment, tree maintenance, tree inventory work, and public education.

- Safe operation and maintenance of all machinery and equipment.

- Performs other duties as assigned by the Parks and Urban Forestry Director.

8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
