Job Summary
Parks and Rec employees perform advanced tasks to maintain and improve municipal infrastructure. This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and involves significant physical labor and technical skill.
Duties
Winter:
• Clearing and shoveling snow from streets, sidewalks and other municipal property
• Spreading salt and sand for ice control
Spring/Summer/Fall:
• Clean and perform maintenance work at recreation parks and facilities
• Campground, ball diamond and playground maintenance
• Mow grass at City properties
• Plant and maintain City flowers
• Carrying out daily safety procedures and documentation
• Reporting daily activities and maintaining accurate records
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
•Education & Certifications •
• Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license
• Satisfactory results from a criminal record check and drivers abstract
•Experience •
• A minimum of 1-year previous experience in a similar capacity
•Knowledge, Skills & Abilities •
• Working knowledge of the Workplace Safety & Health Regulations
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able and willign to perform all duties of the job in various weather conditions for extended periods
• Keen attention to detail
• Confidence interacting with the general public
• Mechanically inclined
• Willingness to learn
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.44 per hour
