Competition number:25-045Salary:$26.28/HourJob Type:Permanent Full TimeClosing Date:April 3, 2025Position Overview:The Parking Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance tasks for parking lots and garages, including the operation and upkeep of parking equipment. They assign tasks to and supervise the Parking Maintenance Assistant to ensure efficient work performance.The Supervisor is also responsible for handling minor electrical repairs and maintenance for parking meters and access equipment, as well as managing basic landscaping duties around parking areas, including sweeping, snow shoveling, and operating a snowplow when necessary.On a weekly basis, the Supervisor, along with the Parking Maintenance Assistant, conducts parking meter revenue collection, completing all associated counting and paperwork.
Additionally, the Supervisor identifies security concerns in parking lots and garages, addressing loitering issues in a safe manner, and performs other related duties as assigned.WORKING CONDITIONS

  • At times incumbents perform strenuous physical labour for extended periods of time requiring physical strength and endurance.
  • Exposed to a variety of weather conditions (e.g., rain, snow and extremes of heat and cold), heavy traffic, vibration, noise, dust, chemicals, noxious odours, fumes and potentially hazardous materials.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • The proper use and care of common hand tools.
  • Dexterity to work with small meter and other machine parts and small power tools.
  • Handling of cash requiring organization and general math skills.
  • Operate a pickup truck with snowplow.
  • Willingness to work varied schedule (weekends, holidays, early morning and late night)
  • Ability to work alone.
Essential Qualifications:
  • High school graduation or equivalent; and
  • Minimum one year of experience of manual labor and using small hand and power tools experience.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
  • Valid New Brunswick driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Criminal record check.
