Schedule: Rotating schedule consisting of day shift and over-night shift including alternating weekend

Position Overview

Responsible for enforcing the City of Vaughan By-Laws including but not limited to, parking, signs. licensing, portions of zoning, noise, dumping, road side sales and idling of vehicles. Identifies and collects confidential information and evidence. Initiates the appropriate course of action in accordance with applicable legislation and regulations to enforce such by-laws.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Secondary School Graduate
  • Post Secondary courses in Law Enforcement/Investigative Studies Discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience, preferably in a municipal environment.
  • Working knowledge of Municipal By-Laws, enforcement processes the Provincial Offences
and Highway Traffic Acts and court proceedings.
  • Good organizational and report writing skills, accompanied with computer literacy and the
ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public and staff.
  • Valid Ontario "G" drivers license, in good standing.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts as outlined within the collective agreement.
  • Provide a "Criminal Reference Clearance Letter" from an accredited police service.
