Duties
Safely operate box trucks or similar commercial vehicles to deliver parcels across designated routes.
Load and unload packages using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques.
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals.
Verify delivery addresses and obtain signatures when required.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management and package sorting when not on the road.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
Follow all safety protocols related to driving, lifting heavy items, and operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
Skills
Proven experience in delivery driving or courier services, especially with box trucks or similar vehicles.
Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions during deliveries.
Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving of packages safely and efficiently.
Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not required.
Knowledge of route planning and navigation tools for efficient deliveries.
Experience operating manual transmission vehicles is advantageous.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle physical demands of the job. This position is essential for maintaining the flow of goods from warehouse to customer, requiring professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety at all times.
