Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support lawyers with a variety of legal tasks, including research, document preparation, and case management. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organizational skills and a passion for the legal field to contribute to a dynamic practice. The position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Responsibilities



Draft, prepare, and file legal documents for Supreme Court of BC and Provincial Court Manage court filings (Court Services Online, e-filing, and physical filings) Assist with family law, CFCSA, or other practice areas as required Organize and maintain client files (physical and electronic) Conduct legal research and prepare summaries Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court registries Assist lawyers with trial preparation, affidavits, exhibits, and deadlines Track limitation dates and court deadlines

Qualifications & Skills



Paralegal diploma or relevant legal education (preferred), NCA Candidates are welcome to apply Experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant in British Columbia Strong knowledge of BC court procedures and rules Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines independently Professional, confidential, and client-focused approach

Assets (Nice to Have)



Experience with family law Knowledge of the Family Law Act and Supreme Court Family Rules Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to communicate in a second language is a strong asset.

This position is best suited for someone seeking long-term employment who is able to commute reliably and holds a valid driver's license.

Work hours

are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Statutory holidays are provided.

We are looking for a

self-driven individual

who is willing to learn and be trained. A

three-month probationary period

will apply.
