JOB OVERVIEW



Labour Relations Paralegal will support the legal department in a variety of matters that impact our business including Collective Bargaining, Policy and Compliance, Grievance and Dispute Resolution, Strategy and Planning, and Training and Support

Skills and Qualifications



A degree, certificate or diploma from college or university. Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field Must have Utility knowledge experience in distribution, transmission and communicationProficiency in Microsoft Office, word, Bluebeam and any estimation software. Minimum 2 years of experience.

Duties:



Collective Bargaining: Negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements, including researching proposals, preparing for negotiations, and acting as a lead negotiator. Grievance and Dispute Resolution: Manage the grievance process by investigating complaints, mediating disputes, and representing the company in arbitrations and other proceedings. Policy and Compliance: Advise management and employees on the interpretation of collective agreements, human resources policies, and labor laws. Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement strategies, policies, and programs related to human resources and labor relations to meet an organization's requirements. Training and Support: Support management and employees by providing advice and guidance on various labor and HR-related issues. Research: Research best practices in employee benefits, compensation, and health and safety to recommend policy change

Qualifications:



Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field--required 5+ years of paralegal experience either in a corporate legal department or at a law firm, preferably with experience in construction law Able to work independently Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities with a business-minded focus to support our operations Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels and across all functions within the company Superior organizational skills Superior administrative skills with attention to detail Proficiency with MS Office Suite High degree of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
