We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys by conducting legal research, preparing documents, and managing case files, attending court appearances. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong writing abilities, and a thorough understanding of legal procedures. The Paralegal will play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our legal operations, providing essential support across various cases and projects.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and iManage to gather relevant case law, statutes, and legal precedents.
Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.
Assist with project management tasks related to case deadlines, court filings, and document organization to ensure timely submissions.
Support attorneys during client interviews by preparing questions and summarizing interview notes.
Manage case files through efficient filing systems, both electronic and physical, ensuring easy retrieval of information.
Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date case records and legal databases.
Handle administrative responsibilities such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and maintaining phone etiquette when communicating with clients or external parties.
Support the firm's clerical functions by performing general office duties including filing, photocopying, and maintaining organized workspaces.
Qualifications
Proven experience in an administrative or clerical role within a legal environment is preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent writing skills for drafting and proofreading legal documents with precision.
Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and iManage is highly desirable.
Experience with project management and data entry tasks is advantageous.
Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize complex information clearly.
Exceptional attention to detail combined with good phone etiquette for professional communication.
