Key Responsibilities
Draft and review legal documents
, including contracts, agreements, policies, and other institutional correspondence.
Conduct legal research
on topics relevant to post-secondary education, such as student privacy, accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance.
Manage and organize legal files
and documents, ensuring all records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
Assist with corporate governance tasks
, including preparing meeting minutes and maintaining corporate records.
Liaise with external legal counsel
when necessary.
Support the administration in ensuring compliance
with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) guidelines.
Qualifications
A
Paralegal diploma or certificate
from an accredited institution.
A minimum of
2-3 years of experience
working as a paralegal, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
Strong understanding of
Canadian legal principles
and research methodologies.
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
.
High degree of
attention to detail
and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
