We're expanding our team and seeking a dedicated Painter Manager to lead our operations and drive project success.
Job Summary
As a Painter Manager, you will oversee painting operations, manage teams of painters, ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. This role combines hands-on leadership with strategic planning, making it ideal for an experienced professional with a background in painting supervision or management.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, and supervise painting projects from inception to completion, including assigning tasks to team members and monitoring progress.
Lead and mentor a team of painters, training, performance evaluations, and addressing any personnel issues.
Estimate materials, labor, and costs for projects; prepare budgets and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication.
Enforce safety protocols, quality control standards, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., WCB guidelines).
Manage inventory of paints, tools, and equipment; oversee maintenance and procurement as needed.
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve outcomes.
Maintain accurate records, including time sheets, payroll, project documentation, and reports.
Resolve on-site issues promptly and ensure all work meets or exceeds client expectations.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in painting or related trades, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, equipment, and safety practices.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in project management software, budgeting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
Certifications such as fall protection, MEWP (arial platform), first aid aren't required but are an asset.
