Painter - Maintenance Worker - 1 Day Per Week, Part-Time Position Available!

Shifts:

Day Shift 8:00am - 4:00pm Saturdays or Sundays (preferred)

Wage:

$26.00 per hour

Staff Meal:

About Us:

Opened in 2021, The Vineyards Residence is a state-of-the-art five storey, 134-suite residence, offering specialized, enhanced assisted living and memory care services to the Okanagan region.

The residence is designed so that it is broken up into neighbourhoods each with only 16 or 17 suites. Activity/common areas are located at the centre of every neighbourhood, so that dining and activities are only ever a few doors away. This also creates a "small home environment" that allows for relationships with a smaller number of neighbour and caregivers, to support structure and familiarity.

In addition to all the typical amenities and common areas, the building includes very large suites, in-suite laundry, Surgically Clean Air (to limit the spread of airborne infections), memory boxes, a 5-storey glass atrium, an in-house restaurant known as The Bluff Pub, The Vista Lounge and Dining Room, a gym, therapy rooms, a large bus for outings, balconies with expansive views, and a cafe- all of which are accessible to all residents.

License/Certification/Experience:

Criminal Record Check, working with Vulnerable Adults WHIMIS Ability to work independently and as a positive team member

Experience:

Graduation of grade 12 or equivalent Certificate from a program in general maintenance or a suitable combination of education and experience. Hands-on experience with

painting as a primary focus

, along with minor building repairs, basic plumbing, electrical work, and grounds maintenance. Previous experience working in a care community or similar environment is an asset. Strong ability to follow schedules and meet deadlines. Demonstrates cleanliness, good personal hygiene, and a professional appearance.

Job Duties:

Perform painting duties with strong attention to detail to maintain a clean, well-kept environment for residents, visitors, and team members. Carry out minor maintenance tasks and light repairs as needed. Communicate respectfully and professionally with residents, families, and staff. Organize and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure the building, equipment, and resident areas remain safe and in good working condition. Prioritize daily tasks effectively and complete work within expected timelines. Operate maintenance tools and equipment safely and responsibly. Lift and move materials or equipment required to perform job duties. Respond promptly to building or equipment malfunctions; troubleshoot issues and implement appropriate corrective actions. Review the maintenance log regularly and ensure all items are addressed in a timely manner. Monitor the facility for potential safety hazards and take action to correct or report concerns. Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Perform other related duties as assigned.
