As the Royal Canadian Air Forces prime service provider at 5 Wing Goose Bay, Labrador, our team delivers comprehensive air operations, emergency services, logistics and engineering expertise to the Department of National Defence. We work on behalf of DNDs no fail mission at Goose Bay: supporting NORAD operations for the projection of air power on the north and northeast coasts of Canada, while supporting military training for the Canadian Armed Forces, Allies and NORAD. 5 Wing Goose Bay provides effective training facilities, adaptable infrastructures, and a unique, austere, and challenging training location. You will be part of a team that works closely with the military customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality and efficient services to DND. • Read and interpret specifications, scopes, drawings, or sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare, and clean surfaces using various manual, or mechanical methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, water blasting and steam cleaning, .
• Prepare surfaces with stucco, plaster, sealants, etc. to make ready for acceptance of final finish.
• Provide line painting services as required.
• May be required to work in remote and isolated sites.
• Train apprentices up to Journeyperson standard and endorse appropriate documentation.
• Document all information concerning the work performed, labour and materials used to complete assigned work.
• Be available for on call standby duty after hours and weekends as required, according to regularly posted schedule.
• Preparation of cost estimates for clients.
• Required to operate light duty vehicles, and other equipment necessary in the performance of assigned duties.
• Participate in assigned training/certification to perform work of the contract.
• Ensure all assigned deliverables and other reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Visibly demonstrate Serco Values and work practices while completing duties.
• Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Possession of a valid NL Journeyperson certificate for Painter is required.
• Possession of a Class 5 NL drivers license is required.
• Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (DND/RDDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security clearance is required. May be required to upgrade to Secret Level II (dependent upon customers security requirements).
• Able to obtain a drug and alcohol test.
• Able to obtain a drivers abstract.

Hourly rate: $33.51 Hours per week: 37.5
