Purdys Chocolatier is hiring Packing Machine Operator Back-Up and General Help to support the team at our production facility in Vancouver, BC! The Packing Machine Operator is responsible for setup and operation of the Fuji machine and supporting equipment according to established standards for productivity and quality. They are responsible for changeovers, start ups, shut downs, operation and trouble shooting of all associated equipment.
Duties include but are not limited to: . Complies with all company GMP's; comply with SQF policies and procedures . Carries out responsibilities identified in the Purdys Quality Management System including required documentation and quality checks . Produces products according to production schedules and specifications. Is responsible for maintaining specified weights, run speeds and quality requirements and can troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems . Maintains area to a satisfactory level of cleanliness and sanitation . Carries out any required preventative maintenance tasks and completes required documentation . Transfers completed pallets to the warehouse . Complies with all safety policies, accident prevention and compliance programs: reviews work areas for potential issues that could result in losses and reports injuries and hazards . Ensures that all wrapped product meets the quality standards . General duties as required. Other duties may be added or deleted as necessary When not working as a Packing Machine Operator, you would be working as General Help in any production department. Minimum Qualifications: . Mechanical aptitude and previous experience operating machinery . Experience in the food industry is an asset . Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English . Ability to lead and influence others and create a teamwork environment . Has excellent organizational skills . Can create neat accurate and legible reports . Ability to endure continuous repetitive motion Performance Expectations: . Must have a positive attitude and excellent attendance record . Able to work flexible hours . Is a Team player and is quality oriented . Has a high level of initiative and works efficiently . Works safely and maintains a clean and organized work area . Takes direction well from a variety of people . Capable of working independently or as a team player .
