Introduction

The Packaging/Production Manager will be responsible for all finished products being produced at one of Motif Labs site locations. This includes: labelling, packaging, and filling production processes. This is a hands-on role and will lead the packaging team to ensure quality and production targets are met. This includes the writing & maintenance of SOPs, sourcing new packaging equipment, growing the packaging team and streamlining processes. This role will be instrumental in continuing the growth of Motif Labs.

Position Overview

Source filling, capping, packaging, and labelling equipment as required

Investigating automation and specing out potential solutions

Installing and validating all new filling, capping, labelling and packaging equipment

Ownership of all standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to packaging operations

Maintaining regular communication with supervisor and production staff

Troubleshooting equipment issues, and provide resources for production staff to correct issues

Performing cleaning and maintenance on equipment as required

Follow strict quality control checks and ensure batch records are recorded clearly and accurately

Follow guidelines for storing of supplies, equipment and disposal of waste

Developing process improvement documentation

Maintaining packaging schedule

Establishing standard operating procedures (SOP) writing as required

Strict compliance with all regulations under the Cannabis Act; and

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

5 -10 years leadership experience managing a team in a fast paced, packaging production or manufacturing environments in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facilities is preferred

PMP certification

Experience in problem solving and following detailed procedures

Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging team environment

Ability to work according to tight schedules and timelines

Ability to work independently and possess strong attention to detail with a common sense approach to problems/issues

Excellent communication skills

Must remain in compliance with provincial and federal regulations, and internal Motif policies

Physically fit; standing and/or sitting will be required for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 25 lbs

Required to pass a criminal background check

WORKING CONDITIONS (ON SITE):

This role is performed on site in either our Aylmer or London, Ontario locations and Motif provides all required PPE and has continued manufacturing safety protocols: a well-fitted mask must be worn while inside our production areas.
