Introduction

The Packaging/Production Manager will be responsible for all finished products being produced at one of Motif Labs site locations. This includes: labelling, packaging, and filling production processes. This is a hands-on role and will lead the packaging team to ensure quality and production targets are met. This includes the writing & maintenance of SOP\xe2\x80\x99s, sourcing new packaging equipment, growing the packaging team and streamlining processes. This role will be instrumental in continuing the growth of Motif Labs.

Position Overview

\xe2\x97\x8f Source filling, capping, packaging, and labelling equipment as required

\xe2\x97\x8f Investigating automation and spec\xe2\x80\x99ing out potential solutions

\xe2\x97\x8f Installing and validating all new filling, capping, labelling and packaging equipment

\xe2\x97\x8f Ownership of all standard operating procedures (SOP\xe2\x80\x99s) related to packaging operations

\xe2\x97\x8f Maintaining regular communication with supervisor and production staff

\xe2\x97\x8f Troubleshooting equipment issues, and provide resources for production staff to correct issues

\xe2\x97\x8f Performing cleaning and maintenance on equipment as required

\xe2\x97\x8f Follow strict quality control checks and ensure batch records are recorded clearly and accurately

\xe2\x97\x8f Follow guidelines for storing of supplies, equipment and disposal of waste

\xe2\x97\x8f Developing process improvement documentation

\xe2\x97\x8f Maintaining packaging schedule

\xe2\x97\x8f Establishing standard operating procedures (SOP) writing as required

\xe2\x97\x8f Strict compliance with all regulations under the Cannabis Act; and

\xe2\x97\x8f Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

\xe2\x97\x8f 5 -10 years leadership experience managing a team in a fast paced, packaging production or manufacturing environments in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facilities is preferred

\xe2\x97\x8f PMP certification

\xe2\x97\x8f Experience in problem solving and following detailed procedures

\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing and challenging team environment

\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work according to tight schedules and timelines

\xe2\x97\x8f Ability to work independently and possess strong attention to detail with a \xe2\x80\x9ccommon sense\xe2\x80\x9d approach to problems/issues

\xe2\x97\x8f Excellent communication skills

\xe2\x97\x8f Must remain in compliance with provincial and federal regulations, and internal Motif policies

\xe2\x97\x8f Physically fit; standing and/or sitting will be required for long periods of time and must be able to lift up to 25 lbs

\xe2\x97\x8f Required to pass a criminal background check

WORKING CONDITIONS (ON SITE):

This role is performed on site in either our Aylmer or London, Ontario locations and Motif provides all required PPE and has continued manufacturing safety protocols: a well-fitted mask must be worn while inside our production areas.
