Overview



As a Packager in our manufacturing facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper packaging and labelling of our products for shipment. You will be responsible for packaging finished doors & materials according to specifications, conducting quality checks, and preparing them for shipping. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Position and Responsibilities



Packaging:



- Package finished doors & materials according to specifications and customer orders.

- Ensure that product is properly protected to prevent damage during shipping.

- Select appropriate packaging materials (boxes, pallets, padding, etc.) based on the type and size of products to be shipped.

- Label each package with the correct shipping information, including customer details, destination, and handling instructions.

- Ensure that all packaging materials are clean, undamaged, and free from defects.

- Assemble and seal boxes, crates, or other containers as needed.

Quality Assurance:



- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.

- Inspect for any defects, scratches, or imperfections before packaging.

- Document and report any quality issues to the appropriate personnel.

- Ensure that all packaged items are properly labelled and identified.

- Maintain accurate records of packaged items and their destinations.

Shipping Preparation:



- Prepare packaged doors for shipping, including loading them onto pallets or into containers.

- Coordinate with the shipping department to schedule pickups and deliveries.

- Ensure that all shipping documents and labels are complete and accurate.

- Stage packaged product in the shipping area for pickup or delivery.

- Assist in the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles as needed.

Safety and Maintenance:



- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Perform routine maintenance on packaging equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition.

- Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.

Team Collaboration:



- Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production goals and deadlines.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other departments.

- Assist in training new employees as needed.

Education and Qualifications



- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Proven experience in packaging or a related field.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Understanding of safety procedures and guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:



- Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.

- Experience operating packaging equipment (e.g., strapping machines, stretch wrappers).

- Familiarity with shipping software and systems.

- Certification in forklift operation

Physical Requirements:



- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to stand for extended periods.

- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach.

- Ability to work in a noisy and sometimes dusty environment.

Work Environment:



- The work environment is in a manufacturing facility where the noise level is usually moderate to loud.

- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots are required.

- The job involves working with machinery and materials that may pose safety hazards. Proper safety procedures must be followed at all times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.28-$21.43 per hour
