YOUR PROFILE

You are recognized for your autonomy and your ability to coordinate purchase lots of various mechanical equipment with multiple stakeholders. There is little you don't know about the mechanical design of complex industrial equipment such as pressure vessels, reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, conveyors, etc. Plus, you're looking to make an impact in your job, your work environment, and on the world too, by working for a company that takes innovation to the next level.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

Upon your arrival, you will support the "Mechanical" team within Central Engineering, in the coordination of the technical aspects of all activities relating to the design, definition, supply, manufacture and installation of most of the equipment making up Enerkem's bio-fuel production plants. You will report to the Chief, Mechanical Engineering. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team while enriching your career and working on Enerkem's unique disruptive technology.

Your role and responsibilities will be the following:

  • In charge of drawing up drawings, data sheets and technical specifications for stationary and rotating equipment, with a view to calls for tenders
  • Support the procurement team in the tender process.
  • Manage the technical analysis of calls for tenders and issue technical recommendations for awarding contracts.
  • Coordinate technical documentation review activities (drawings, calculations, data sheets, lists, etc.) with specialists from all relevant engineering disciplines for various equipment lots in order to meet the project schedule.
  • Provide technical support during the manufacture of stationary and rotating equipment, in order to deliver this equipment to the Module manufacturer or directly to the factory site.
  • Support the detailed design of Modules (systems).
  • In collaboration with the Project and Process Engineering groups, the batch engineer may have to analyze options in order to optimize equipment costs (direct and indirect), schedule and process efficiency. He will also carry out market studies in order to select and size stationary or rotating equipment that meets process criteria and budget requirements.
  • The candidate sought will have to collaborate with external engineering firms.
Qualifications

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical or biotechnological engineering with ideally more than 7 years of relevant experience. Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience will be considered.
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec.
  • Experience in the development of stationary and rotating equipment for industrial projects, ideally in the petrochemical and/or mining field.
  • Relevant engineering experience for projects involving pressurized systems.
  • Knowledge of various industry standards such as API, ASME, TEMA, CSA, etc.
  • Knowledge of piping and pressure vessel codes (vessels, heat exchangers, etc.) such as ASME B31.3 and Section VIII Div.1.
  • Knowledge of 3D visualization software (Navisworks Freedom, Navigator, etc.), an asset.
  • Knowledge of metallurgy, welding, structural steel, resistance of materials, an asset.
