The Burlington Jr. Barracudas are looking for an enthusiastic and driven candidate looking to grow their vocal portfolio and be the new in-arena voice of the Jr Cudas! About the Burlington Jr. Barracudas

As a premier member of the U22Elite and 2024 OWHA Provincial Champions, the Jr. Cudas are part of the highest level of Jr. Women's hockey in Ontario. We pride ourselves on producing the best players on and off the ice, who are recruited by the best hockey schools in North America. We also work hard to provide opportunities for multi-media producers to get a start in the industry by contributing to the top livestream and media production team in the league.

Role Structure

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Public Address Announcer will be the voice of Mainway Arena. Announcing starting lineups, goals, penalties, and sponsors, they will engage with the crowd and team with energy and charisma. They will be in close communication with the Director of Communications to curate gameday scripts, playlist management, and will work with the timekeeper & scorekeeper to ensure statistical accuracy during games.

$30 a game

Length:

September 1 - End of March

Hours:

24 Home Games + Playoffs. Saturdays & Sundays, occasional weeknight

Responsibilities

- Announce Starting lineups, goals, penalties, and next game advertisements throughout every home game

- Curate a gameday music playlist that is in line with the team's requests and avoids repetition

- Assist with stat tracking to ensure accurate reporting on RAMP Gamesheets and post-game reports

- Assist in pre-game setup and post-game takedown of equipment as needed

Qualifications

- Confident public speaker

- Experience using a microphone to speak to the public

- Experience with music management apps such as Apple Music, Spotify, or other music apps

- Demonstrated hockey knowledge, familiarity with U22Elite OWHL is an asset

- Owns a laptop for music

- Available for all home games (Usually Saturday Evenings and Sunday Afternoons)
