The Role
We're looking for an Owned Audience Manager to take strategic ownership of our core retention and conversion channels: email newsletters and push notifications. This role is all about driving engagement, audience growth, and monetization through smart lifecycle marketing, compelling copywriting, and data-driven optimization.
You'll manage subscriber journeys end-to-end,from segmentation and targeting to performance reporting, and collaborate across Editorial, Monetization, Design and Operations to ensure the right message reaches the right audience at the right time.
If you're a strong copywriter with a growth mindset, a solid understanding of lifecycle marketing, and the ability to move seamlessly between creative work and performance analysis, this role is your sweet spot.
What You'll Do
Manage scheduling, setup, QA, and deployment of all recurring and ad hoc email sends.
Optimize push notification cadence and targeting across devices and audience segments.
Troubleshoot and maintain workflows with partners such as ActiveCampaign and Pushnami.
Develop and implement new segmentation strategies to improve engagement and retention.
Create and refine lifecycle journeys and funnels to support conversions.
Grow our opt-in audiences across email and push channels.
Write and refine email content, including blurbs, subject lines, sponsored content copy, and acquisition-focused messaging.Work cross-functionally to align messaging with editorial, affiliate, and performance goals.
Track and analyze KPIs across both channels, producing weekly and monthly performance reports.
Own monetization strategy for owned media, including affiliate and sponsored email campaigns.
Provide actionable recommendations for ongoing optimization.
Contribute to static post planning on Facebook, X, and Instagram to support content distribution.
What you'll bring
3-6 years of experience in email marketing, CRM, audience development, or lifecycle marketing ideally in a digital media environment.
Mastery of email platforms such as ActiveCampaign and push tools such as Pushnami or OneSignal.
Strong data literacy: able to interpret KPIs, identify trends, and turn insights into action.
Skilled in A/B testing, segmentation, and engagement optimization.
Strong copywriter with excellent editing and subject line optimization skills.
Familiar with HTML/CSS for basic email formatting/troubleshooting.
Understanding of affiliate and sponsorship monetization in email.
Collaborative, curious, and comfortable switching between creative and analytical work.
