Job Description


We are looking for candidates who possess a strong foundational knowledge of mental health, trauma-informed approaches, conflict management, and verbal de-escalation techniques. The ideal candidate should have experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds and should be able to communicate effectively with youth, their families, and other members of the team.Employees shall be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities: Ensure the safety of all persons (clients, staff, and family members) within the residence. Supervise and assist in all activities of daily living (as outlined in individual client plan of care or files), and the development of adaptive daily living skills such as social skills, life skills, emotional regulation, personal hygiene, and/or pre-employment/job training. Complete day-to-day administrative tasks as required by Pinnacle Suport including but not limited to: Daily Communication Logs, Incident Reports, Staff Injury Report, and Individual Behaviour Support Plan data sheets. Create, implement, and maintain behavioural tracking documentation specific to each in home client in conjunction with input and insights gained from parents, teachers, social workers, co-workers, and other members of their support team. Support behavioural management techniques in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Demonstrate appropriate understanding of role modelling and maintain professional standards as outlined in the provided company policy and procedures manual. Ensure the continuity in the support of clients routines with a consistent and caring attitude and maintain client programming. When necessary, employees may administer or provide oral medication as prescribed by a physician with the permission and/or approval from the clients parents and/or guardian. Complete appropriate medication authorization forms as needed (i.e doctor visits, home visit medication forms etc.) Employees are to arrive prepared and on-time to their scheduled shift start time for shift change debriefing, and pre-shift communication log review.No employee shall leave or end their scheduled shift before the next scheduled staff arrives for work. Participate in company assigned workshops and professional development opportunities mandated and/or requested by the Director, or designee(s). Work collaboratively with members of management and assist with all aspects of day-today operations as needed.To be eligible for this role, applicants must possess a completed degree relevant to the field, such as Child & Youth Worker, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
