Four Counties Addiction Services Team (Fourcast) is a community-based addiction treatment service provider that strives to provide the highest quality of evidence-based addiction treatment and case management services. Fourcast offers services across 5 sites in the region. The community treatment program staff work in-office and community settings and are often co-located and integrated with other organizations to reduce barriers for those accessing services.

Four Counties Addiction Services Team (Fourcast) Paddock Wood location offers a 35-day Intensive Residential Program and a Residential Withdrawal management service to service users seeking help with substance use. The 35-day Intensive Residential program provides a structured schedule of treatment activities seven days a week, either at the Fourcast residential treatment site or while living at home, helping service users explore personal goals and build skills to manage substance use. In addition, the six (6) bed Residential Withdrawal Management Service is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for service users experiencing withdrawal symptoms related to substance use. This program offers a non-judgemental setting where service users can receive care and support while managing the physical and emotional challenges from withdrawal.

The Overnight Awake Residential Care Worker is responsible for remaining awake and vigilant throughout the night to ensure the safety and well-being of the service users. This position requires employees to be proactive in monitoring the facility to ensure security of the building, intervening in emergencies, and providing support as needed.

In addition to providing direct service user care, the Overnight Awake Residential Care Worker assists with medication management to support service users' health and well-being. The role also includes completing all required documentation and maintaining a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and food service support. Additionally, this position contributes to overall program operations by preparing and updating materials as needed.

What We're Looking For:



Education & Training



Requires a college diploma or certificate in the Human/Social Services field (e.g., Social Service Worker, Human Services Worker, Addiction Worker, Personal Support Worker.

Experience



Minimum 2 years' experience working in an addictions or mental health setting. One year of recent and relevant experience working in community or residential withdrawal management or other related work in the addiction sector.

Certifications, Licenses and Records



Valid First Aid/CPR. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certificate. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) an asset. Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required. Food Handling Certifification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



Knowledge of harm reduction philosophy and practice as it relates to healthcare, mental health, and addiction interventions. Knowledge of issues related to mental health and addictions in hospital and community settings along with awareness of common theories and interventions for supporting individuals facing complex addiction challenges. Understanding of substance use, mental health and concurrent disorders and have a demonstrated ability to identify challenges in substance use and mental health recovery. Knowledge of withdrawal symptoms for various substances and understanding of withdrawal management and the impact this has on physical and mental health. Experience in the use of evidence-based screening tools used with those experiencing substance use and mental health challenges. Commitment to service user focused philosophy of care.
