We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outreach Worker to join our team. This role is essential in connecting with the community, promoting our programs, and ensuring that our services reach those in need. Responsibilities
Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage the community effectively.
Supervise outreach initiatives and manage project timelines to ensure successful execution.
Conduct public speaking engagements to raise awareness about our programs and services.
Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts and identify areas for improvement.
Recruit volunteers and participants for various programs, fostering a sense of community involvement.
Maintain accurate administrative records of outreach activities and participant engagement.
conduct entrance/ exit interviews with women and children
work with women and children to develop and re-assess safety plans at move out and in the community
provide on-going support and contact for families that have left EMC
provide individual and group counselling for women that have experienced violence
provide rotational on-call duties
provide supervision for students as necessary
schedule, recognize and organize volunteers as necessary
to develop and maintain a statistical reporting/evaluation system
compile and complete accurate case notes
general office duties
to adhere to agency goals, philosophy, policies and procedures
perform other duties as directed by the Executive Director
Skills
BSW/BA in social work or related field, SSW from accredited college, or combined experience and education
experience working with victims of violence in the areas of violence, sexual assault, shelter or second stage housing
sound theoretical knowledge of violence against women/gender-based violence and related issues
training and experience in the provision of counselling services for women and children, both with individuals and groups
demonstrated skill in client assessment, family court navigation, safety planning, advocacy, and recording in highly sensitive and confidential situations
sound knowledge of Perth County resources
superb time management skills
valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
recent (3 months) criminal records and vulnerable sectors check
Strong public speaking abilities to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
Proven time management skills, ensuring timely completion of outreach initiatives.
Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and collaboration among staff and volunteers.
