About Our Opportunity

The Outreach and Engagement Advisor is accountable for developing, managing, implementing and evaluating communications plans and tactics that build internal and external awareness of Tourism Nova Scotia\'s priorities, programs, services and initiatives, as well as activities aimed at increasing Nova Scotia\'s tourism confidence. The Outreach and Engagement Advisor develops content for a range of communication channels, including social media, tourismns.ca, industry blog and newsletter, presentations, proposals and information notes and briefing documents. The Outreach and Engagement Advisor provides advice and coaching to staff on a broad range topics and issues, and works collaboratively with other Government of Nova Scotia staff specifically colleagues at Communications Nova Scotia, to coordinate initiatives for Nova Scotians.

Qualifications and Experience

University degree in a related discipline with several years of professional communications experience is required, or an acceptable equivalent may be considered. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal, written, and editing skills, and understand current communications trends and online technologies. Experience developing and implementing communications strategies, managing social media and experience dealing with stakeholders and media is required. Experience with graphic design, web site content management systems and French language skills would be considered an asset.

The incumbent may be required to travel throughout the province.

We will assess the above qualifications using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade: EC 11

Salary Range: $3,238.10 - $4,047.67 Bi-Weekly
