Our organization is seeking a volunteer for our Parent & Child and Outdoor Day School or Full day school age programs.
Our volunteers are often trying to gain experience in the education field, are in teachers college, in their ECE diploma or have past experience with children in a summer camp setting. Our Lead Educators are often trained Ontario teachers, Early Childhood Educators or trained in Forest and Nature School Education, and this could be a great learning opportunity for this candidate. Our team of facilitators and educators have the attributes of what we want to see in our young people. They are caring, patient, creative, resilient and cooperative. They may have past experiences as teachers, parents, naturalists, community organizers, musicians, artists, students, farmers, storytellers, social workers and personal support workers. We love what makes you unique!
The ideal candidate would be excited to work outdoors most of the day facilitating and supporting children from the ages of 2 - 10 years of age. They would have knowledge about the natural world, confidence in leading innovative lessons for children and a willingness to learn the Ignited Learning Centre culture. There are half day and full day opportunities available.
Ignited Learning Centre is looking to create a family type feel in our work environment, where each member feels valued for who they are and confident to take new risks in a supportive space. If you have your own children, there could be an opportunity to bring them to program, further encouraging our sense of community and care of each member.
