Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation\'s Sherwood Park office is recruiting for a Network Telecommunications Analyst to join the team. This position reports to the Supervisor, Field Communications Network Operations Centre (NOC) in the Information Services Unit (ISU).

At Pembina, it is the responsibility of the Information Services Unit to continuously improve data, security and integrity of the network from infringement, interruption and destruction of sensitive data. Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Participate as a team member, responsible for network management, upgrades, installation, documentation and design;
  • Provide data transport of various communications protocols and formats including IP (MPLS, TCP/IP, MQTT) and serial RS232;
  • Initiate, design, document, and maintain telecommunications systems at tower sites, pipeline facilities, and data centres;
  • Manage the health, stability, and performance of network technologies and services;
  • Maintain documentation and reports related to network and telecommunications activities;
  • Provide support to Field Communications teams and to Pembina operations;
  • Work effectively with other OT/IS peer groups with different areas of responsibility (i.e.: OT field groups, SCADA Infrastructure, Security, IT Networks, etc.);
  • Supervise contractors, interface with service providers as required;
  • On-Call rotation is required; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education from a recognized technical training institution (such as NAIT, SAIT, BCIT, etc.) in Network Technology or related;
  • Nokia NRS / Cisco CCNA or CCNP required or equivalent experience;
  • Field network and/or network operations experience;
  • Progressive experience supporting enterprise and operational networking, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting medium to large scale networks;
  • Experience in the following technologies and protocols:
  • BGP, OSPF, STP, SNMP, SIP, VRRP;
  • Nokia network devices, SAR, SAS, MSS, MPR, Wavence, Hm Cellular;
  • Cisco network devices, IOS, NX-OS, Cellular;
  • Linux Red Hat, Debian;
  • WAN technologies MPLS, VSAT, LTE/cellular, etc.;
  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition);
  • iDirect Evolution (Satellite);
  • MQTT and related software;
  • Microwave and narrow band radio systems;
  • Preference given working knowledge of:
  • OT networks and systems;
  • Network Management Tools: Solarwinds, Nokia NFM-P;
  • Microsoft Azure / Azure Networking;
  • ServiceNow, working knowledge of ITIL best practices;
  • Operated a highly secure network, utilizing logical segmentation and layered security design;
  • Experience working in high pressure, low downtime environments, both in maintenance and break / fix scenarios;
  • Must be a self-starter and dedicated team member;
  • Ability to multitask and respond to time constraints and deadlines;
  • Must be willing to work in both office and field environments;
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills, including solid presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong teamwork orientation;
  • Has a positive attitude, is energetic, and highly personable; and
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver\'s license.
Position requires applicant to reside within 50km of Sherwood Park, Alberta.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
