JOB OVERVIEW

Prometric administers CMTO's Certification Examinations for registration as a Massage Therapist in Ontario. The two examinations are the Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) Examination and the Objectively Structured Clinical Evaluation (OSCE). The OSCE is administered in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, and is designed to assess candidate knowledge, skill, and judgement in a simulated clinical setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under direction of the Assessment Development Specialist, OSCE Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) develop case scenarios, participate in team editing sessions, conduct examination team training, and support the administration of the OSCE by providing oversight to the examination team. OSCE SMEs also facilitate candidate orientation and invigilation. At the OSCE facility, SMEs take direction from the Operations Service Manager.



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Diploma of Massage Therapy from a recognized program Current General Certificate of Registration in good standing with CMTO (and if selected for the role, will continue to practice massage therapy) Post secondary education in a related field considered an asset Prior OSCE team experience of one (1) year or more Candidate must not have taught in an approved Massage Therapy program in the last three years Must not have a personal relationship or affiliation with any student who is currently or will be enrolled in a Massage Therapy program

SKILLS

Possess a strong understanding of the multiple subject areas comprising the Interjurisdictional Practice Competencies and Performance Indicators for Massage Therapists at Entry to Practice (PC/PIs) Strong knowledge of CMTO's Standards of Practice, by-laws, position statements and legislation governing massage therapy in Ontario Knowledge of evidence-based practice and patient-focused care Awareness of ongoing initiatives within massage therapy, including competency profile modernization and accreditation Committed to ensuring confidentiality and exam security Demonstrated professionalism and collaborative approach Adaptable and able to work well with others Excellent verbal and written communication skills Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Strong sense of ethics and accountability Computer literacy with access to a personal computer or laptop for remote meetings Comfort learning new technology/applications Comfort teaching others and providing constructive feedback Alignment with Prometric's vision, mission, and values Fluency in French considered an asset

TIME COMMITMENT

Participation in exam team training sessions in March-April of each year Participation in approximately 10-12 full-day meetings (remotely) Availability for multiple OSCE administration dates between May and December for each year.

REMUNERATION AND EXPENSES

Paid for all time worked, including training Applicable expenses related to travel, accommodation, and meals are eligible for reimbursement in accordance with the Prometric travel and expense policies.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Physical demands are comparable to those encountered in the provision of massage therapy (bending, lifting, moving massage tables, etc.) Periods of standing while invigilating exams
