- Assist optometrist with patient care, including: obtaining data from various instruments (autorefractor, Non-contact tonometer, lensometer), taking patient history, measuring visual acuity, and performing preliminary tests
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Provide exceptional customer service in every area of the office
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion and removal techniques
- Assist with frame selection, dispensing of eyewear and minor repairs
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic medical records
- Perform other administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, answering phones, registering patients, verifying insurance, etc
Qualifications
- Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology office is an asset but not required. Training will be provided (Maybe you are looking for a career change)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
-Must be able to work well with others. Office conflict will not be tolerated. This is a very friendly place to work!
Nice to Haves
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Familiarity with optical procedures and equipment is a plus
