Position Summary

We are seeking an

outgoing and personable Optometric Assistant

to join our growing clinic. This full-time, long-term role involves both

optical retail

(helping patients select eyewear) and

medical reception and administrative

duties. It's ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a strong sense of style, and thrives in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

Assist patients in selecting stylish and well-fitting eyewear Educate patients on optical lenses, coatings, and pricing options Perform optometric pre-testing and assist with patient flow Instruct patients about contact lens wear, care, and types Book appointments and manage optometrist schedules using EMR software Greet patients and respond to phone and email inquiries Manage referrals, insurance billing, and patient records accurately Support clinic organization, inventory management, and general upkeep

Requirements

Retail, sales, customer service, or healthcare experience (including fashion retail) Post-secondary education Strong communication skills, especially with families and children Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment Computer literacy and ability to learn new software (training provided)

Assets (not required)

Experience in optical or fashion retail Experience in optometry or healthcare settings Knowledge of eyewear, eye care products, or contact lenses

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.50-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
