Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. This position involves assisting with various clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient operation, while also enhancing the patient experience.

Responsibilities



Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes. Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all patient information is up-to-date. Assist the optometrist during examinations by preparing patients, conducting preliminary tests, and documenting results. Educate patients on proper contact lens care, eyewear options, and optical products. Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and handling patient inquiries. Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and staff. Support retail sales by promoting optical products and services to patients. Provide assistance in pediatric eye exams as needed.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is highly desirable. Strong background in patient care with excellent interpersonal skills. Experience in front desk operations within a healthcare or retail environment is beneficial. Knowledge of optical products and services is an advantage. Understanding of medical terminology related to optometry is essential. Retail sales experience will be considered an asset. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $19.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
