Optometric Assistant 1 Year Contract

Job Description

Cedar Pointe Optometry is looking for a full time Optometric Assistant 1 year contract with possible permanent position for our multi doctor optometric practice. No experience needed, ongoing training provided. We pride ourselves on having both a strong focus on modern technology, as well as a large inventory of trending and classic eyewear to provide the very best in eye care and eye wear.

Schedule:



Hours are full time Monday to Thursday 8:15am to 6:00pm, Fridays 8:00am to 12:00pm

Typical Responsibilities:



Interpret optical prescriptions and determine appropriate lens options (single vision, bifocal, progressive, etc.) Assist patients in selecting frames that suit their facial features, lifestyle, and prescription needs Take precise measurements for PDs, OC/seg heights, position of wear Advise on lens materials, coatings, and features (e.g., anti-reflective, blue light filter) Order and verify the accuracy of prescription lenses Fit, adjust, and repair eyeglasses and frames to ensure comfort and proper alignment Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage Submitting to insurance companies and performing financial transactions Maintain patient records and manage inventory of optical products Using optical equipment such as retinal imaging, visual fields, edging, lensometer etc... Provide excellent customer service and handle sales transactions

Skills Required:



Time Management Strong interpersonal and communication skills Basic knowledge of eye anatomy and vision terminology Comfort with technology and diagnostic equipment Attention to detail and accurate data entry Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

As an Optometric Assistant, you will be essential in supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. Your role involves managing electronic medical records, assisting with patient care, and selecting frame and lenses that suit patient's lifestyle. While no prior experience is needed, strong communication skills and time management are crucial for success. Your core knowledge of medical/optical terminology, along with premium skills in medical office procedures, will enhance patient interactions and contribute to a seamless office environment. Pay: From $19.00 per hour
