Who we're looking for:
an enthusiastic Optician who is ready to grow with us. Our ideal candidate has a positive attitude, is comfortable with technology and has effective communication skills.
Who we are:
a well-established, independent, growing vision therapy and optometry clinic. Our patient base is a mix of all ages - from 6 months to 100! We also see many students struggling with reading or classroom performance and those suffering visual impact as a result of traumatic brain injury (i.e. concussion) - no day is ever the same! We are passionate about educating anyone who will listen about the importance of vision care and that vision is more than the ability to see 20/20!
This dynamic and evolving position will include both dispensing and administrative tasks, such as:
Guiding patients through thoughtful eyewear selection, styling, fitting and dispensing
Adjusting and repairing frames
Staying up to date on product knowledge
Patient pre-testing
Processing, receiving orders and inspecting for accuracy
Stocking supplies/inventory management
Lens edging and cutting
Welcoming patients in person or on the phone; answering or referring inquiries as needed; answering emails
Managing and optimizing schedules and patient satisfaction
Data entry into electronic medical records (e.g. patient demographics)
Keeping plants alive
Learning our systems, work flow and help us become more efficient
Protecting patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
Educating our patients
Ensuring the waiting room and exam rooms are kept clean and tidy
Helping us make sure our patients have the best experience possible
Requirement:
Qualified Optician
Experience in customer service
Ideal candidate qualities and assets:
Contact lens fitter
Experience in billing insurance
Experience with office computer systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Professional
Desire to learn
Enjoys working with people (particularly kids)
Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Multi-tasker
