Actalent is seeking an Optical Test Engineer with skills in automation for an opportunity in Ottawa, ON!

Description:

As a key member of the product testing team, you\'ll be expected to execute firmware testing with focus on quality and adherence to project schedules.

For this role, you\'ll be testing the firmware code and performing complete telecommunications product testing. The automation of the tests will be done using Python. Being familiar with fiber optics technology will be necessary for this role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• To scope, plan and execute the test strategy in an Agile environment.
• Ensure world-class quality for product and features being tested
• Debug and resolve technical issues
• Execute test activities for product releases to address field issues, feature enhancements, critical defect fixes through mix of white box and black box testing
• Strategize with HW, ASIC, FW, and SW teams and proactively derive test scenarios to improve customer experience
• Perform Root Cause Analysis for customer found defects and enhance test plans to cover the customer scenarios.

Required Skills:

• Optical Test Experience OR Photonics Test Experience
• Working knowledge of Optical Test Equipment (ROADM/DWDM, Optical Amplifier, Optical analyzer, power meter, VOA, OSA)
• Experience with Python test automation

Experience working at the Layer 1 and Layer 0
