Job Description

Actalent is seeking an experienced Optical Engineer for a long term position with one of our clients in the telecom industry in Ottawa.Description:We\xe2\x80\x99re supporting our client in Ottawa for a long term opportunity as an Optical Engineer. Looking for someone with experience across a wide variety of optical technologies. The candidate should have experience working in complete product development lifecycle, everything from concept to delivery. Should have experience using automation and optical analysis tools. They will be working on free space optics technology.

• Model/simulate/test and verify optical systems

• Present test data/analysis/recommendations to other R&D teams

• Explore the applicability of new technologies, provide concepts and contribute to new business development

• Participate in optical/system design reviews

Top Skills Required:

• Proven experience in product development with optical products/technology
• Experience with optical test equipment
• Modelling experience with Zemax
• Master\'s degree or PhD in physics or optics

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with free space optics technology
• Experience with optical amplifiers
• Automation or scripting experience
