Optical Assistant - Part-Time (3-4 Days per Week)

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented

Optical Assistant

to join our team on a

part-time basis (approximately 3-4 days per week)

. In this role, you will support daily optical operations and help deliver exceptional customer service to our clients. This position is ideal for someone who wants to grow within the optical field, and

we are open to training candidates who may wish to study and become a licensed optician in the future

.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Assist customers in selecting eyewear frames and lenses based on prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal style Conduct preliminary eye tests and measurements under the supervision of an optician or optometrist (training provided) Accurately process orders for glasses and contact lenses Perform frame adjustments, fittings, and minor repairs Maintain and organize inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies Ensure the cleanliness and visual presentation of the sales floor Provide administrative support such as scheduling appointments and handling customer inquiries

Requirements

Previous experience in a retail or optical setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate Knowledge of basic optical or medical terminology is an asset Familiarity with optical tools and equipment is helpful Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach Comfort with sales techniques to guide clients in choosing the right eyewear Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Availability to work

3-4 days per week
